About Respect! Films
Respect Films was created by Patrick Meaney and Jordan Rennert. We'd done a bunch of projects together, and eventually decided to come up with a name for ourselves, hence Respect Films. In 2004, we did our first major project, Tabula Rasa, which was done in collaboration with Steve Deluca and Richard Spinelli. Later in 2004, we started our first project as co-directors, Ricky Frost. In summer 2005, we ran a filmmaking workshop for LMC-TV, and made the film Extracurricular Activities, in collaboration with the students in the workshop. In the second half of 2005, I did a number of films on my own for a film production class. Shooting on 16mm, I made Closed Door Policy, Do Unto Others and Key 23. Jordan and I returned to collaboration with The Perfect Dose. The five month stretch from August 2005 - January 2006 was an incredibly productive period. In June 2006, I shot a video for Victoria Levy's song Champagne Saturday. Later in the summer, I shot the film, All Good Things. I also ran the LMC workshop with Jordan, where we produced Out of this World. We also co-directed a video Nepo's song Yer Warpin' Me. In October/November of 2006, I wrote/directed a short called Universal Traveler. It's still being edited, but is looking great. Then, in January 2007, Jordan and I made Dream of Life, a surreal short film. Almost all of these films are available for download from the site, and I'd encourage you to check them out. Currently in the works is an ongoing webseries called The Third Age. Look for that to debut in mid 2008 and run for the next year or so. In the future, Respect Films is looking to do more films, as well as music videos. We're open to collaboration, so if you're a band and would be interested in working with us, drop me an e-mail and we can talk things over. There's a bunch of stuff in the works, so stay turned to the site for the latest. |
